MUI Banten Committed to Improving Services Through ISO Quality Standards

THEBANTENPOST, BANTEN – The Indonesian Ulema Council of Banten Province, Majelis Ulama Indonesia, has once again demonstrated its commitment to maintaining quality management standards and professional institutional governance. This was marked by the official closing of the ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance conducted by the international certification body Worldwide Quality Assurance (WQA), which took place over two days, from May 12 to 13, 2026.

The quality review process, which involved administrative inspections and evaluations of work systems across various internal commissions of MUI Banten, concluded with a closing meeting and presentation of the audit results. During the session, WQA auditors M. Indra Gunawan and Swasto Marganto delivered a comprehensive evaluation before the leadership and board members of MUI Banten.

Indra Gunawan explained that, overall, the quality management system implemented by MUI Banten has been running very well. In his report, he stated that MUI Banten received Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) notes in seven areas or commissions that had been examined.

“The OFI status in these seven areas indicates that there are no fundamental non-conformities, but rather opportunities to further optimize the existing system. We noted and highly appreciate the significant efforts toward improvement and quality enhancement compared to last year’s surveillance,” said Indra Gunawan in his report.

Responding to the positive results and appreciation from WQA, the Chairman of MUI Banten, Dr. KH. A. Bazari Syam, expressed gratitude and appreciation to all board members, commissions, and staff who had worked hard to maintain the institution’s operational standards.

“Alhamdulillah, the achievements conveyed by the WQA audit team are clear evidence that the working system within MUI Banten continues to improve toward greater professionalism. The progress compared to the previous year is the result of our collective efforts and shared commitment in serving the Muslim community,” stated the Chairman of MUI Banten.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the OFI status in the seven commissions would not merely become a written record, but would immediately be followed up with strategic improvement measures to further enhance community-oriented programs.

In line with this, the Secretary General of MUI Banten, Dr. Endang Saeful Anwar, M.A., also expressed high appreciation for the discipline and synergy demonstrated by the entire team. According to him, this achievement is an important indicator of the effective implementation of administrative order and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within MUI Banten.

“This achievement shows that the administrative governance and quality of services within MUI Banten are becoming increasingly solid and well-structured. The improvement compared to last year’s surveillance proves that we are not standing still, but continuously evaluating ourselves to become better,” said Endang Saeful Anwar.

Regarding future expectations, he stressed the importance of maintaining consistent quality standards so they can directly contribute to optimizing MUI’s role in society.

“We hope that these seven OFI points can soon be formulated into concrete improvement programs in each commission. Moving forward, the governance of MUI Banten must become more adaptive, professional, and responsive in addressing the dynamics of the Muslim community. ISO 9001:2015 is a system that, once properly implemented, should operate like a continuously running machine. This ISO certification is not the final goal, but rather a foundational standard for us to continue innovating and providing the best service to the people of Banten,” he concluded.

The closing ceremony of the ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance ended with the symbolic handover of the audit documents from the WQA team to the leadership of MUI Banten, followed by a collective prayer for the institution’s continued progress and success in the future.
