Solidarity Between Students and Police for Flood Victims in Lebak

Lebak, Banten — The Democratic Tactical Student Organization of Wanasalam (Matadewa), in collaboration with the Lebak Police Resort (Polres Lebak), distributed humanitarian aid to residents affected by flooding in Kampung Genduleun, RT 02 RW 01, Sukatani Village, Wanasalam Sub-district, Lebak Regency, on Friday (December 26, 2025).

The social service activity was carried out directly at the flood-affected location at around 10:00 a.m. WIB, with a total of 40 basic food packages distributed to Beneficiary Families (KPM). This action served as a tangible manifestation of synergy between students and state authorities in responding to disasters experienced by the community.

Lebak Police Chief AKBP Herfio Zaki, S.I.K., M.H., who was present at the activity, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration established between the Indonesian National Police and youth organizations.

“This social service activity is a form of our concern for the community, as well as a manifestation of synergy between the Police and youth organizations in building social solidarity. We highly appreciate the spirit of our colleagues from Matadewa Wanasalam who have actively taken part in this humanitarian effort,” said AKBP Herfio Zaki.

He further hoped that through this togetherness, relations between the Police and the community would grow closer and foster a spirit of mutual cooperation to create a safe and conducive situation in Lebak Regency.

Appreciation was also conveyed by the Sukatani Village Government. A village representative stated that the assistance was very helpful for residents affected by the flooding.

“We, the Sukatani Village Government, express our gratitude for the concern shown by Matadewa students together with the Lebak Police. This assistance is very beneficial and has been directly felt by our residents,” he said.

A similar sentiment was expressed by Husen, the Head of RT 02 of Kampung Genduleun. He considered the activity to have a positive impact on residents affected by the disaster.

“We would like to thank the Matadewa students and the Lebak Police. This assistance is very helpful for our residents who are experiencing difficulties due to the flooding,” he said.

Meanwhile, Matadewa Chairman Sarnata emphasized that this social service activity is part of the students’ social responsibility toward the real conditions faced by the community.

“We would like to thank the ranks of the Lebak Police for collaborating with Matadewa in this humanitarian activity. Alhamdulillah, the assistance distributed can be directly felt and has helped residents affected by the flooding,” said Sarnata.

Furthermore, Sarnata also urged the local government to immediately take concrete and sustainable measures in addressing flooding in the area.

“We hope that the Lebak Regency Government will soon realize long-term solutions, such as the construction of drainage systems or water disposal channels. This is important so that flooding in Kampung Genduleun does not continue to recur every rainy season and cause losses to the community,” he asserted.
